An Giang urged to boost socio-economic development

On December 17, President Sang worked with key provincial leaders on the socio-economic situation, national security and defence, judicial reform and judgments of the court sector.

An Giang underscored its intentions to carry out the Politburo’ s Resolution 49 on judicial reform, according to which the province has guided local sectors to strictly comply with regulations for investigations, prosecutions and trials.

President Sang praised An Giang’s socio-economic achievements and its efforts to enhance judiciary reform and improve the living standards of local people, especially in ethnic minority areas.He expressed his satisfaction with the province’s progress in reducing poverty, encouraging local people to build a better cultural lifestyle, and boosting economic development. As a result, the number of poor households in the province has dropped to 8 percent this year.

Regarding judicial reforms and judgments of the court sector, Mr Sang asked the provincial administration and Party organization to improve the quality of investigations, prosecutions and trials, and speed up communication to raise public awareness of and responsibility for national construction and defence.

An Giang should continue helping local people fully understand Resolution 49 to enable the entire community to implement effective judicial reforms, particularly in judiciary agencies, Mr Sang noted.

During his working visit to An Giang, Mr Sang also paid tribute to the memorial for President Ton Duc Thang in My Hoa Hung commune, Long Xuyen city, and visited Nhon Hung commune, the Tinh Bien international border gate economic area and several poor households and families credited with revolutionary services.
