Binh Duong always cares and creates the best conditions for employees

That was claimed by Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, at the 2023 launching ceremony of "Worker's Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health", which was coordinated by Provincial People's Committee and Provincial Labor Confederation and held on May 5 at Provincial Labor Culture Center. On behalf of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Do Hong Van, Member of the Presidium, Head of Women's Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and representatives of departments, branches, localities, and workers in the province attended the ceremony.

Continue to take care

In this May, the government, branches, and mass organizations, especially Trade Union of the whole province, have been assembling many resources to organize activities in "Workers Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health". Provincial localities and units have coordinated and solved difficulties for employees, effectively implemented the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of employees while the lives and jobs of workers were severely affected after the Covid-19 pandemic. With the theme "Connecting workers, building organizations", Trade Unions at all levels will coordinate with authorities, branches, and mass organizations to take care of employees with a series of practical activities such as: : "Worker's Fair", "Sale Week for Employees", "May Dialogue"...

Currently, Binh Duong has over 1.3 million employees. The province now has more than 4,100 grassroots trade unions with more than 822,000 trade union members/ 882,069 employees in organizations that have trade unions, accounting for 93.2%. Provincial Labor Confederation has always played a good role in taking care of workers' lives; proactively proposed to Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee many mechanisms, policies, and action programs, making an important contribution to creating jobs, improving living standards, protecting legitimate rights and interests of employees.

As one of 81 disadvantaged workers supported by Provincial Labor Confederation on this occasion, Dang Ngoc Hieu, a worker of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd (Di An City) said emotionally: “I have been working at my company for more than 10 years. In the past few years, my health condition has been weak due to kidney failure and continuous dialysis. While the family's situation is getting harder and harder, I have received the attention and support of Trade Union as well as my company. I am very happy and feel heartwarming because of the care. This is the motivation that helps me overcome all difficulties to keep working hard.”

Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairman of Provincial Labor Confederation, said that right after the launching ceremony, Trade Unions at all levels coordinated with the authorities and enterprises in the area to carry out activities of Workers’ Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health practically and effectively. Trade unions at all levels continue making efforts to better perform activities of caring for, representing and protecting the interests of union members and employees not only in May but throughout the year.

Always accompany employees

In 2022 and the first months of 2023, the global economic situation continued to have adverse effects on the economy of our country in general and Binh Duong province in particular. This greatly affected the production and business of enterprises, the employment, income and lives of workers. In addition, working conditions in many establishments are still limited, factories are cramped, machinery, equipment, and technology are outdated, and working environment is toxic, which easily causes occupational accidents and diseases…

Binh Duong always understands, sympathizes, and shares these problems with employees. On the other hand, the province gives support and creates better conditions for employees, propose solutions to solve difficulties of enterprises. Therefore, Binh Duong pays special attention to policies for employees, especially in terms of life, income, employment, housing, kindergartens, places for cultural activities and entertainment, ensuring safety and hygiene at work etc. and has achieved some good results.

Nguyen Minh Tam, General Director of VSIP Asset Management Services Co., Ltd (Thuan An City) shared: “Although at this time, businesses are facing many difficulties and challenges, they always try to take care of employees' lives with satisfactory incentives. We also thank the attention and companionship of Binh Duong province who always stands side by side with businesses. This is a great source of encouragement for businesses and employees to continue to overcome difficulties and develop production.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Vo Van Minh warmly praised, acknowledged, and congratulated the achievements of Trade Union, business community, and employees over the years. These results have made an important contribution to the overall socio-economic development achievements of the province. The Chairman of Provincial People's Committee asked departments, agencies, local authorities, and the business community of the province to have high responsible spirit to perform well, and to closely coordinate with Trade Union at all levels to continue developing the movement of Good Labor - Creative Labor, technical innovation initiatives, increasing labor productivity; better perform activities of caring, representing, and protecting the interests of employees so that they will work and stay in Binh Duong for a long time.

“In the coming time, the Party Committee and authorities of Binh Duong province will continue to make specific and practical guidelines, policies, and activities to create the best conditions, remove difficulties for businesses, and at the same time to help workers feel secure and happy to start a business and live in the province, thereby joining hands to develop the province more sustainably”, Vo Van Minh affirmed.

At the launching ceremony, Provincial Labor Confederation gave support to 81 disadvantaged workers who unfortunately suffered from occupational accidents and occupational diseases, each of which included 2 million VND in cash and 1 gift; gave support to 50 disadvantaged workers, who are unfortunately suffering from occupational accidents or occupational diseases and have studious children, each of which includes 2.3 million VND in cash and 2 gifts. Also at the ceremony, Provincial Labor Confederation also received support from businesses through Trade Union organizations to create trade union shelters as well as give meaningful gifts to employees with a total cost of more than 600 million VND…
