Binh Duong seeks to take good care of employees on Tet holiday

In addition to supportive policies from financial sources during the year and the exploitation of accumulated resources, Binh Duong provincial Trade Unions are mobilizing all social resources, especially calling on employers join hands to take care of trade union officials, union members, and workers during the Lunar New Year 2023.

The gloomy global economy has affected the production business of many enterprises. Enterprises are looking for ways to maintain production, stabilize jobs and income for workers' lives. At Tessellation Binh Duong Co., Ltd (Thuan An City), nearly 3,000 employees are working urgently to complete year-end orders delivered to customers.

Le Van Sam, who was born in Thanh Hoa province, a worker who has been with this company for more than 13 years, happily said: “The company and trade union have announced Tet-caring activities for workers, 13th-month bonus... After hearing this announcement, we workers were very encouraged to work until the Tet holiday."

Nguyen Van Luong, General Director of Tessellation factories in Binh Duong and Dong Nai, said that anticipating difficulties and grasping market demand, with many solutions, the company has made great efforts to find orders. Therefore, production business activities of the company still take place normally, jobs and incomes of employees are guaranteed.

“The company is not cutting employees but wants to recruit more workers to meet production demand. All regimes and policies for employees are still maintained by the company, including salary for the 13th month of 2022 and Tet-caring activities for workers", said Nguyen Van Luong.

Meanwhile, Mai Thanh Tuyen, Chairman of grassroots Trade Union of Shyang Hung Cheng Co., Ltd. (Thuan An City), said the company's trade union balances revenue and expenditure during the year and makes use of accumulated resources of the unit to implement the Tet care plan for union members and workers.

It is expected that 8,300 union members and employees working at the company would be cared for, visited, and receive Tet gifts financed by the trade union's financial resources.

At Primacy Vietnam Company (Ben Cat Town), the company's trade union takes care of union members and employees by planning to give more than 350 Tet gifts, worth from 300,000 - 500,000 VND each; and proposed the company to organize activities for employees to welcome the Spring Festival, such as a year-end party and lucky draw prizes...

Make more efforts

With the motto "All union members and employees have happy Tet", the provincial Trade Unions are making more efforts to take good care of workers on the 2023 Lunar New Year to strengthen the sympathy and bonds between union members, employees and their families, trade unions, enterprises, create harmonious, stable and progressive labour relations in enterprises.

Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of Binh Duong Textile and Garment Industry’s Trade Union, said that in order to share difficulties with union members and workers, especially on the coming Tet holiday, the Trade Union proposed the province to double Tet gifts from the provincial budget for union members and employees compared to last year (more than 1,200 Tet gifts).

In addition, provincial Textile and Garment Industry’s Trade Union also asked grassroots trade unions to take care of workers on the 2023 Lunar New Year with the motto "All union members and employees have happy Tet".

Accordingly, grassroots trade unions actively propose employers to organize Tet-caring activities for workers. Namely, grassroots trade unions, as in previous years, will present Tet gifts, ranging from 200,000 to 300,000 VND each, to union members and employees. Trade Union of Textile and Garment industry, in addition to the Tet supportive policies, will mobilize organizations and businesses to join hands for this.

At the same time, the Trade Union will organize animated activities to welcome the New Year, such as flower arrangement contest, five-fruit tray decoration on Tet holiday, cooking contest etc. to create a cosy Tet atmosphere for all union members and employees.

Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the Provincial Labour Confederation, said that in addition to activities financed by trade union's financial resources, the Provincial Labour Confederation also called on other organizations, enterprises, local authorities to cooperate in implementing the program "Welfare for employees" to mobilize resources for Tet-caring activities, especially for employees having extremely difficult circumstances, suffering labour accident, occupational disease, serious disease, lacking and losing job, taking unpaid leave due to difficulties in enterprises, falling quantity of orders…

In addition, all-level Trade Unions in the province will actively grasp the situation, inspect and supervise employers’ law observance on the salary and bonus regime during the Tet holiday, to promptly propose solutions to the authorities to ensure the interests of union members and employees at enterprises, where have difficulties, decreased orders, owe wages, are unable to pay bonuses, employer flees…

The highlight of the Tet care activities of the Provincial Labour Confederation are programs, such as: "Spring train 2023" to bring union members and workers return to their hometowns in provinces from Binh Thuan back to Hanoi; "Spring bus 2023" brings union members and employees to their hometown in western provinces and the Central Highlands; program "Trade Union’s Tet Market 2023"; organize fun activities to welcome Tet, visit and encourage union members and employees who cannot return to their hometown on Tet...
