In the afternoon of October 17, Nguyen Hoang Thao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, chaired a meeting to listen to the draft report on the plan to organize major holidays and activities serving the Lunar New Year 2023.

On the basis of inheriting the results of the implementation of the plan of the previous years, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the province's major holidays, has coordinated with other departments, branches and localities to develop a draft plan of major holidays and activities to serve the Lunar New Year 2023. Accordingly, activities to celebrate the New Year, the Lunar New Year, the National Traditional New Year, and the Party and the Spring 2023 include street decoration, spring flower market, flower Street, Spring Flower Festival, Spring Newspaper Festival, Spring Tour, and meetings of diplomatic corps, religious dignitaries, ethnic minorities, the press, the artists among others.

This year, due to the fact that the COVID-19 epidemic has been controlled, the province plans to add a number of activities during the Lunar New Year, specifically the exhibition of cultural art works in the space of Spring Flower Festival and Flower Street at Binh Duong New City Park in front of the provincial Administration Center Building. For activities to celebrate the New Year 2023 and celebrate Binh Duong's 26 years of development, a new event - the "Spring Concert" organized by Becamex Tokyu Co. Ltd. in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also asked for opinions on fireworks to celebrate the New Year in 2023, to celebrate Binh Duong's 26th anniversary of development (from January 1, 1997 to January 1, 2023) and New Year's Eve in the administrative center area of ​​the province.

Concluding the meeting, Nguyen Hoang Thao noted that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to select, arrange, make statistics, and evaluate the need to organize events in the spirit of thrift, safety, practicality and safety. On such basis, they should finalize the draft plan and submit it to the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee for comments. He also made departments and agencies pay special attention to speed up the progress of key projects to start construction and inaugurate on the occasion of the New Year, creating an exciting atmosphere and strengthening people's confidence.
