Exhibition of 40-year achievements of Binh Duong Province – a colorful picture of energy and potentials

On weekend, at the provincial Center of Conference and Exhibition was an inauguration ceremony for the Exhibition of 40-year achievements of Binh Duong Province with participation of over 100 units and 200 displaying stalls to introduce prominent products and achievements throughout 40 years of an energetic locality of great potentials. The exhibition is to last from April 25 through May 2.

40 years of revolution legacy

Addressing the exhibition starting-up, as Member of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Standing Board, Deputy Chair of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, and Head of Major Celebration Organization, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem affirmed of the strong transformation of a province at lowest starting point of agricultural economy and low-profile infrastructure through 40 years after liberation of the South and nearly 30 years of reforms. Now, Binh Duong Province has become an industrial locality of rapid, strong, and sustainable development in the major economic zone of the South and a delight of reforming achievements and global economic integration.

Mr. Tran Thanh Liem addressed: “Local Party Committee and authority have made great polices of luring investments and economic development approach of increasing services, stabilizing industry, and reducing agriculture to gain various measures for modern transition of the economy by improvement of capacity, product quality, and competitiveness. In the meantime, we have made great investments into infrastructure and human resources as well as business environment for the sectors of great potentials and advantages in Binh Duong Province.”

Such efforts were for maintenance of 60,8% - 36,2% and 3% accordingly in industry-service-agriculture structure by the end of 2014 by when the budget collection was VND 32,000 billion and income per capita was VND 61.2 million a year which was 1.5 times higher than national average.

Along with economic development, Binh Duong Province has paid great attention to social and cultural development. Delight development of culture, health services, education, labor and employment, culture and sports, and social welfare was thanks to more and more investments. The administrative procedure reforms eyed new step forwards to gain more support of the public and enterprise communities. The political system has become more and more effective in maintaining national defense and security, which under direction of the provincial authority has been contributive to the maintenance of political security and social orders.

The ongoing exhibition depicts a colorful picture of a energetic and potential locality of Binh Dung Province in the face of all-out efforts made by local Party Committee, authority, and the people. Over 100 participating units and 200 exhibition stalls help to introduce prominent products and achievements of the locality throughout 40 years. The exhibition is categorized into 3 stages of the history: the resistance war against the US Army to save the nation (1954-1975), the 20-year recovery and construction of Binh Duong Province (1976-1996), and the integration and development of Binh Duong Province (1997 until now).

In the past, Binh Duong Province was a strategic locality for final attack against the US Army and its puppet government from the North. It had been the fierce battle ground with vast military presence, brutal and vice conspiracy, weapons and toxins of destruction.

The exhibition of armed force in the resistance war against the US Army from 1954 to 1975 includes documentary photography and remaining articles of the brutal war and glorious victory of locals. Those are the pictures of male and female soldiers getting up to remove strategic village camps and the resistance against raids and brutal attacks in Bong Trang, Nha Do, Bau Bang, Dau Tieng, etc. The exhibition reminds the veterans and locals living through wartime and educates younger generations of the heroic days of our precedents.

Nguyen Hong Hoa, a visitor from Phu Hoa Ward in Thu Dau Mot City, said: “I have been through various museums and shows of war in Vietnam; however, I have never seen so specific pictures of Binh Duong Province. The exhibition shows me more brutality of the war.”

Magical changes

After liberation of the South, Song Be Provincial Party Committee, armed forces, and the people have made great efforts in recovering and developing the economy with particular recovery and development of agriculture. By 1979, agriculture has been positioned as major to fight famine and unemployment to aim for agriculture production socialism. The images of workers of Tan Ba Collective in good production and combat readiness shall help the younger generation imagine of the recovery stage from 1976 through 1996. The exhibition also offers outstanding photography of development ever since 1997 to put Binh Duong Province in the new height of development.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, one of the elders living in Binh Duong Province, said in delight: “Binh Duong Province changes so fast. The former Bau Beo field has now become the center of a new city with wide streets and more and more high storey buildings. After 40 years from the war, Binh Duong Province eyed the magical changes to become a city under central government management at the soonest.”
