Fund-raising for the poor meaningful to socio-economic development

September 9, Provincial Chair Le Thanh Cung has host a meeting as fund-raising head for the poor to listen to reports of and launch fund donation and charity houses in 2011.

The fund-raising is made into 3 stages with specific drive names across 3-level administration of communes, wards, and towns. The first stage from October 17 to November 18 is named “one month for the poor” while the second stage from December 25 to January 25 denotes “Tet holiday for the poor”. In the third stage of “gratitude” from April 1 to April 30, 2012, the fund will reach for the poor.

It is expected that at provincial level the fund-raising drive will be donated with at least VND 10 billion. As for charity housing construction, the program will support 149 households at totally VND 4.470 billion. About VND 1.948 billion is expected to be spent on furnitures.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Cung agreed that the fund should be unified to one clue and demanded sectors, agencies and unions to register for a common pool at Fatherland Front Committee. He stressed on the meaningful fund drive as a socio-economic factor.
