Get-together to celebrate the VPA’s 78th anniversary held

*Provincial leaders offer flowers, incense in memory of heroes and martyrs

Early December 19, provincial Military Command’s Party Committee held a get-together to celebrate the 78th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2022); the 33rd All People’s Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2022).

The get-together was attended by Nguyen Minh Triet, former Politburo member, former State President; Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Education-Propaganda Commission; heroes of the people's armed forces; provincial leaders over periods…

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the heroic history of the VPA. During the past 78 years, under the wise and ingenious leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the people's love, care and nurture, the VPA overcame countless hardships, fighting bravely, growing up step by step. Since being established, the armed forces of the province have bravely overcome hardships and fierce battles, been loyal to the Party, filial piety to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for national independence and freedom, for socialism and the happiness of the people. With achievements done, in 2022, provincial Military Command was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of National Defense for its outstanding achievements in the “Determined to win” emulation movement.

Speaking at the get-together, Mr. Minh expressed his deep gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes and martyrs, their family members, wounded and sick soldiers, heroes of the Armed Forces, generations of officers and soldiers of provincial Armed Forces. The glorious victories and achievements of provincial Armed Forces have always occupied a solemn position in the yellow pages of the history of struggle, construction and development of the local army and people. Upholding the tradition of the heroic VPA, officers and soldiers of provincial People's Armed Forces have further united, joined forces to overcome all difficulties, and been determined to strive to successfully complete objectives and tasks on national defense and security set out by the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress...

On this occasion, the State President awarded the first, second, and third-class Fatherland Defense Medals to officers of the rank of colonel holding the position of division chief and equivalent ones, the equivalent regiment under provincial Armed Forces and cadres of the rank of colonel holding the equivalent position of the regiment under retirement in the province…

*Earlier, on the morning of the same day, leaders of provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee together with leaders of departments and sectors visited and offered incense at provincial Martyrs' Cemetery on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the VPA , the 33rd All People’s Defence Festival.

In the solemn and emotional atmosphere of the ceremony, delegates offered flowers, burned incense and bowed respectfully in memory of the great merits of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the dedication and sacrifice of heroes and martyrs, compatriots who fell down for the Fatherland, for the national independence and reunification.

*On the afternoon of the same day, comrade Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation, Secretary of provincial Military Party Committee visited officers and soldiers in Thu Dau Mot city’s Tan An ward.

In the visiting place, Mr. Loi recognized and highly appreciated the achievements of Tan An ward’s Military Command in implementing targets, tasks on national defense and military tasks in 2022. He also asked for the ward’s Military Command to further promote its results, continue thoroughly understanding and well implementing guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on the local military and national defense work; closely combine military, defense - security tasks with socio-economic development, especially in accessing and learning information technology to promptly coordinate with units in the ward to propagandize and guide people to well perform digital transformation..., contributing to building up a more and more prosperous, intelligent, civilized and affectionate Binh Duong.
