The newly-established Binh Duong Committe for Vocational Training and Bonsai Business (288, Huynh Van Luy Road, Thu Dau Mot city) has been expected to train and place jobs for many laborers. More especially, the committee will contribute to develop sustainable agricultural industry in Binh Duong.Every Saturday and Sunday, many people have flocked to the Committee's office to register bonsai training classes or exchange with artisans of the industry. In the first course, the committee admitted 28 learners inside and outside of the province. The learners enjoy skills of planting bonsai, orchid, apricot. Learners are from the different walks of life. They are farmers, retired people, businessmen or students. The most special learner of the first course was Lee Chuan Pa, a Taiwanese working at Dai Viet timber company. Not only a vocational schoolNguyen Huu Kha in Phu Loi ward is ready to stop his business of coffee shop to cater for the Binh Duong provincial Society of Bonsai's common goal. Kha has invested over VND1bil in building classrooms and buying hundreds of material trees in service for the bonsai training classes. Meanwhile, Truong Thi Hoang Mai, a woman director of a travel company often holds visits and exchanges for tourists to bonsai farmsteads nationwide, especially she purchases learners' products to cater for her business. This helps the committee increase its funds.Key factor for urban agricultureOn Sept. 20, 2011, the provincial Party Committee issued an action plan No.26/Ctr-TU on shifting agricultural structure to urban agricultural and hi-tech agricultural development for the 2011-2015 period. Recently, the provincial People's Committee delivered the Plan 756/KH-UBND dated March 26, 2012 on launching the mentioned action plan.In the plan, bonsai is one of models of urban agricultural development. In reality, many bonsai artisans in the province have made wealth from bonsai. Therefore, the committee's establishment is a crucial element supporting for a plan on local urban agricultural development. The committee just received a license allowing to train bonsai industry for 200-300 learners/year. Now, the committee has become a vocational training organization for society.
