Update: 22-12-2011 | 00:00:00

Vocational training not yet meeting development requirements

In recent years, the province’s vocational training system has seen sharp growth with diversification in skills, including information technology-telecommunications accounting for 21.34% of total; medicine-pharmacy, 11.68%; economics, 10.24%...This system has been gradually socialized with 12.8% of teaching staff getting postgraduate degrees, 62.4% with university-college degrees, 24.8% with junior college degrees…

However, the province’s vocational training system has not met the local development requirements yet. Trained laborers have also only catered 60%-80% of businesses’ requirements and have not met labor market’s requirements yet…

Linkage for human resource development

To achieve development orientations till 2020, the province needs to promote hi-quality human resources, including focusing on fostering managerial staff in the public area, businesses, technicians and highly skilled laborers.

Regarding the set targets on human resource development, the province will strive to ensure a logical labor structure with the average annual labor productivity reaching VND102mln a person by 2015 and nearly VND203mln a person by 2020; get 70% of laborers trained by 2015; generate annual jobs for around 54,000 laborers in the 2011 and 2015 period and around 55,000 laborers in the 2016 and 2020 period…

To achieve the above targets, the province needs to speed up information dissemination, quickly perfect management apparatus in human resource development; build up a close linkage between employers and vocational training facilities; increase businesses’initiative in human resource development…, contributing to ensuring the local sustainable development.
