Lai Thieu Women’s Union active takes care of children

Under the Vietnam Women’s Union’s Resolution No.07/NQ-TW on the social issues relating to women and girls between 2009 and 2012, the Women’s Union of Lai Thieu ward in Thuan An town cooperated with relevant agencies to well realize the movements of “Building friendly schools, active pupils”, “Giving strength to pupils” and give support for girls with difficult circumstances in 2011.

Particularly, the local Women’s Union provided free haircut to 76 poor pupils; awarded scholarships worth over VND11mln to 31 poor-but-excellent pupils; presented Mid-Autumn gifts to 418 poor pupils; teamed up with the local Youth Union to donate 30 gifts to 30 pupils at charity classes; joined hands with the local People’s Committee to mobilize individuals and collectives to present 594 gifts worth nearly VND30mln to needy pupils.
