New spirit, new motivation

Update: 13-01-2015 | 14:59:14

The Party Central Committee (11th tenure)’s 10th meeting ended in Hanoi on January 12 after eight days of sitting with a high sense of responsibility.

The Party Central Committee’s 10th meeting wraps up in Hanoi on January 12.

The event thoroughly discussed and reached a consensus on major issues in the draft documents of the 12th National Party Congress to be discussed at Party congresses at all levels.

The Party Central Committee (PCC) highly appreciated the documents, saying that the drafts thoroughly reflected implementation results of some theoretical and practical issues during the 30 years of the Doi Moi (renovation) process, as well as reviewing the five-year implementation of the Resolution adopted by the 11th National Party Congress. The PCC also gave critical comments, especially on major issues of national development, to continue improving the quality of the drafts.

The committee requested objective assessment of the results achieved in recent years to accurately predict domestic and world developments in the near future, and define in the drafts proper direction, objectives and tasks for national development during the 2016-2020 period.

Among them, the PCC asked to focus on feasible mechanisms, policies and measures that could make breakthroughs in solving emerging socio-economic issues, especially matters directly related to sustainability development and enhancing quality of life for the people.

Speeding up industrialisation, modernisation, growth model innovation, economic restructuring; developing a socialism-oriented market economy; promoting human resources development, and strengthening national defence and security while ensuring social progress were also among important tasks.

The PCC urged proactively pursuing global integration, promoting democracy, perfecting the Socialist Rule-of-Law State and developing a system of healthy and strong Party organisations.

The meeting debated and contributed important solutions to finalise a project on streamlining and restructuring the contingent of public servants and a scheme on nation-wide planning for media development and management until 2025. Participants also examined implementation of a vote of confidence on members of the Politburo and Secretariat; considered and resolved complaints on Party discipline; and conducted a Q&A session at the meeting. The PCC also adopted the Resolution of the 10th meeting.

2015 marks important anniversaries for the nation and is also the last year in the 11th tenure of the Party Congress – a crucial year for the entire Party, people and armed forces to fulfill the objectives and tasks outlined in the 11th National Party Congress.

The meeting wrapped up with success, laying important implications for the leadership and direction to fulfill the 2015 tasks as well as the organisation for Party congresses at all levels and the upcoming 12th National Party Congress.

Delivering his closing remarks at the meeting, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong urged Party members and all people to spare no effort to promote results and achievements in 2014 in implementing the PCC’s resolutions to create new impetus and motivation for the successful completion of objectives and tasks outlined at the 11th National Party Congress.
