Practical activities for young workers during Workers ‘Month 2020

Under the Workers ‘Month 2020, provincial Support Center for Young Workers has organized many practical activities for laborers, contributing to taking care of their lives amid Covid-19 pandemic.

In response to the Workers ‘Month 2020, provincial Support Center for Young Workers has continued realizing “Beloved breakfast” and “Kitchen connecting love” programs. Under the “Beloved breakfast” program, the center offered 2,000 meals to workers at industrial parks. The center also implemented a “Kitchen connecting love” program with 250-300 meals given for needy people on Sunday mornings in Ben Cat town’s My Phuoc ward under the support of Nhan Nghia general clinic.

In addition, the center has realized a program of “One thousand beloved gift baskets” for Covid-19 prevention. Accordingly, the center continued coordinating with relevant units to donate necessities, gifts, masks and hand sanitizers to young workers with difficult circumstances.

Do Van Phung, Director of provincial Support Center for Young Workers said that one of the center’s new activities during the Workers ‘Month 2020 is a “Mobile booth with zero dong” program. The significant program will be implemented in mid May with 6 or 10 booths supplying necessities with zero dong for young workers together with some other booths on job introduction. It is expected to take place on May 24 at the headquarters of provincial Youth Volunteer Squad.

The center has also made school free exemption and reduction for kids at Ngoi Sao Nho (Little start) preschool. Besides, the center has linked with relevant units to seek part-time jobs for laborers while strengthening labor recruitment information among enterprises. All aim to help laborers survive Covid-19 pandemic. Along with Facebook, Zalo, the center has disseminated employment information among laborers via provincial Youth Union’s YouTube and fanpage.

During the Workers’Month 2020, the center has also attached special importance to propaganda work among young workers. The center will organize propaganda shows at lodging facilities with clubs connecting young workers. Mr.Phung added that the center will boost dissemination of information about Covid-10 prevention and control together with issues relating to the law and health among young workers, thereby contributing to creating useful playgrounds for them.
