Province further realizes support programs for the handicapped

Early April 22, provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients grandly held its 6^th congress for the 2016-2021 tenure.

Attending the event were Luong Phan Cu, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee and provincial leaders over period together with more than 250 delegates representing more than 11,000 members.

The association well realized entrusted tasks in the last tenure, helping disabled people, orphans and poor patients stabilize their lives. Particularly, the association carried many support programs on healthcare, means of transport, livelihood for them with a total value of more than VND37mln. The congress also approved the association’s orientations, tasks for 2016-2021 tenure with concrete solutions to take good care of the local disabled people, orphans and poor patients.

The congress made consultation of a list of the association’s new Executive Board with 35 members and Nguyen Van Nam was re-elected as Chairman of the association for the 2016-2021 tenure.

On this occasion, the congress also awarded 32 mementoes “For the national cause to support the handicapped and orphans” to outstanding collectives, individuals; 27 collectives, 18 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients; 1 collective and 2 individuals were also presented the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee.
