Provincial leader welcomes US Ambassador and Consul General

Early June 24, Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation received Daniel J.Kritenbrink, the US Ambassador to Vietnam and Marie C.Damour, the US Consul General in HCM city.

At the reception, Mr.Nam briefed the two guests of Binh Duong province’s highlights after more than 20 years of development. Accordingly, Binh Duong has become a bright spot of Vietnam in socio-economic development and FDI attraction from an agricultural locality. So far, the province has attracted more than US$35billion in FDI capital. The US has ranked twelfth in foreign investment in the province with total capital of more than US$760million. He affirmed that Binh Duong has excelled at Covid-19 prevention and control, helping Vietnam become the world’s bright spot in the pandemic fight.

He also spoke highly of the visit of the two guests, contributing to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and the US on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The province pledged to support the US in boosting bilateral cooperation with Vietnam. He also wanted that the US Ambassador to Vietnam and the US Consul General in HCM city to further call on businesses from the US to make investment in Binh Duong, especially in hi-tech industries.

For his part, Mr.Daniel J.kristenbrink expressed his impression on Binh Duong’s robust growth in investment attraction. Especially, he was very impressive in mobilizing the whole political system in the Covid-19 fight while wanting to give better support for the local students who are studying in the US. He said that the US is very interested in training hi-quality human resources in Vietnam. Therefore, he wanted that the two sides will have cooperation in developing human resources in Vietnam. He added that he will continue encouraging businesses from the US to make investment in the province.
