Scholarships awarded to poor-but-excellent pupils

On September 1, Ben Cat town’s Study Promotion Society in collaboration with the town’s Division of Education-Training and Binh Duong Import-Export and Production Corporation awarded 200 scholarships worth VND1million to the local poor-but-excellent pupils.

These scholarships were funded by the corporation with a goal of encouraging poor pupils to further pursue their learning and make their dreams come true. The town’s Study Promotion Society has also considered and recommended poor-but-excellent pupils to sponsors in and out of the province, helping them rise up in study in order to become useful citizens in the future.

*The same day, Tan Uyen town’s Study Promotion Society also awarded 65 scholarships worth VND1million to the local poor-but-excellent pupils.

Of these, 31 scholarships were for primary-school pupils; 24 and 10 for secondary and high-school school pupils, respectively. These scholarships were sponsored by Vietcombank’s Binh Duong branch.

It is known that this is the 8th consecutive year, the branch has given scholarships for poor pupils in Tan Uyen town with the annual expense of hundreds of million of dong.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Study Promotion Society awarded 2 mementoes “For the cause of study promotion” to Tran Thanh Nghiep, Chairman of the town’s Ex-Teachers Association and Bui Thi Phan, former Deputy Head of the town’s Division of Education and Training for their excellent performance in activities of the local Study Promotion Society.
