Over the past years, the provincial leaders always pay much attention to treating and collecting waste and urban waste water in a bid to ensure environment and local residents’ health. Under assistance of Vietnamese and Japanese governments, ministers, agencies and central units, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and efforts of the provincial administration, Thu Dau Mot waste water treatment plant is completed ahead of its schedule and brings initial achievements. Today, the provincial People’s Committee holds the groundbreaking ceremony of the second phase of South Binh Duong water environment improvement project in Thuan An town with the capacity of 17,000m3 per day and night.
Promoting efficiency
In order to implement the first phase of the project of building Thu Dau Mot waste water treatment plant, contractor must install garbage collection system from main roads to alleys leading to residential areas and lodging houses across wards such as Phu Cuong, Hiep Thanh, Phu Loi, Phu Hoa, Phu Tho and more.
Tran Van Minh, in team 4, quarter 2, Phu Loi ward, Thu Dau Mot city shared that Binh Duong’s modern system of waste water collection and treatment helps local residents and enterprises create a civilized and clean lifestyle.
Thu Dau Mot waste water treatment plant has the capacity of 17,650m3 per day and night. Roadmap collecting and treating waste water between Binh Duong Environment-Water Supply Co.Ltd (Biwase) and JICA will last till the end of 2018 with the capacity pf 9,324m3 per day and night. In reality, the plant reached the capacity of 6,000m3 per day and night. Till the end of 2016, the plant’s capacity will win 10,000m3 per day and night and continue to complete its plans 2 years ahead of schedule.
Nguyen Thanh Phong, director of Thu Dau Mot waste water treatment plant said that with ASBR renovation technology, collected waste water will be treated and sterilized. Afterwards, waste after the treatment will be produced into compose fertilizer. The final stage of water will be treated on A standard (QCVN 14:2008/BTNMT). These stages are solved automatically and closely, so the plant is allowed to located near Sai Gon River and hi-grade residential areas.
The second phase continued
The second phase of the project is the sub-project 2 belonging to South Binh Duong waste water treatment project that is approved by the Government with 5 sub-projects at 5 areas in the province. The sub-project has the total capacity of 54,000m3 per day and night and is divided into 3 phases.
Accordingly, the first phase with the capacity of 17,000m3 per day and night uses ODA loan of JICA on loan agreement No.VND11-P10 with the total investment capital of VND2,300bil. The project’s contractor is Kobelco Eco-solution of Japan and sub-contactor is No.5 Construction JSC.
The second phase of this project includes main items such as building a 17,000m3 per day and night waste water treatment plant, building waste water collection network for over 3,000ha of Thuan An town including wards of Thuan Giao, Vinh Phu, An Phu,Lai Thieu and Binh Hoa, collecting waste water under area of Ba Bo canal to solve drastically pollution.
On behalf of the investor, Nguyen Van Thien, general director of Biwase said that the project’s contractors have many experiences and financial and building capacity relating to industrial waste. “We hope to receive assistance and helping and cooperation of departments, agencies and localities and local people for the sake of completing the project on time”, Thien added.
