Springtime in Southwestern marine zone

From January 20 to 27, provincial working delegation of the province led by Mr. Huynh Van Nhi, Member of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Standing Board and Chair of Binh Duong Provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee visited and presented gifts to soldiers and the public of the Southwestern marine zone. The visit was organized by commander of the fifth regional navy forces for delegations of 12 provinces and cities nationwide. The event was regularly organized to show the care of in-land people for those officers, soldiers and the public on remote islands during Tet Holiday.

Jubilant welcome of springtime

The trip passed through two provinces of Kien Giang and Ca Mau. The delegation arrived at islands of Phu Quoc, Thu Chu, Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi, Nam Du, and Hon Doc. In limited time, the delegation members could partially know more about life on an island. Despite the remoteness, local officers, soldiers and public uphold unity and production efforts to maintain sovereignty on every inches of national land. On Phu Quoc, Tho Chu, Nam Du, and Hon Doc, tourism has been exploited along side with aqua-cultivation to improve living standards. On those days, the visiting delegation can enjoy the atmosphere of Tet preparation for a promising Tet Holiday 2015 on the islands of Southwestern marine zone of the nation.

Journey to the islands

During the trip, only Phu Quoc and Nam Du were accessible by big boat at the harbor. For other islands, the delegation of nearly 100 members have to transit on smaller boats. It was a remarkable visit on Hon Khoai on a day of big waves and disturbed sea troubling the transit before challenging the delegation with positions of 150 to 365 meters above the sea level. Colonel Ao Tan Tai, Deputy Head of Political Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Military Commanding HQ, said: “I, myself, as many other members of the delegation felt for the hardship of officers and soldiers on the islands. It was respectful for them stay strong for duty fulfillment. I believe that those places are the best training ground for younger generations.”

Senior Colonel Lieutenant Pham Ngoc Viet, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Police affirmed: “On returning, I will propose to Youth’s League of Binh Duong Provincial Police to organize more site visits to know more about the islands and marine zone and the duties of young soldiers in the field of people’s security.”

Soothing the local hearts

Together with other delegations of 11 provinces, Binh Duong Provincial delegation presented gifts to many military units, People’s Committee, and schools on the islands. Lieutenant Nguyen Tho Truong, radar 595 station monitor on Hon Khoai island said: “As Tet is drawing near, we feel the warmth at heart to welcome the in-land delegations. We promise to hold fast to our positions to protect the nation for in-land people to feel at peace during Tet Holiday.”

Mr. Huynh Van Nhi said: “This is the first time we come and present gifts to the fifth regional navy forces. Binh Duong Province is a locality of strong industrial and urban development; however, local authority has preserved great contributions to the navy forces and fishermen on the islands of hardship. During this time’s trip, Binh Duong Provincial delegation donated VND 500 million to support local forces during Tet Holiday and encourage them to fulfill their roles.”
