Striving to complete local plans on socio-economic development and national defense 2011

At the closing session of the second meeting of the 8th provincial People’s Council on July 29, the provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung explained many concerned-contents as well as set out main measures to complete the local tasks of socio-economic development and national defense in 2011.

As for social welfare issue, in the first 6 months of this year, the province excelled social welfare policies for privileged and poor people. The province mobilized sources from budget and society to build, repair gratitude and charity houses and grant saving books to beneficiaries.

For program on market stability, replying voters’ petitions on selling poor quality goods for rural people, the chairman steered relevant agencies to set up inspection delegations to control quality of goods.

In terms of development of social housing for laborers, the chairman said that the locality ratified a social housing project invested by Becamex IDC. The project has a high feasibility, meeting demand on urban development and accommodation for low incomers. The project will be implemented in this year.

For environmental protection, the chairman steered relevant agencies to spur inspections and solve violations strictly. Recently, the provincial People’s Committee has put into use an automatic waste water system.

For education and training, the chairman affirmed that the quality of teaching and learning in recent years have showed development and improvement.

The province has paid attention to development of nursery schools by many forms to solve laborers’ demand. The locality will launch building of nursery schools in Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An towns and Ben Cat and Tan Uyen districts.

Relating to violations on social order, the chairman affirmed that this is an urgent problem. The province has steered many drastic measures to ensure social order and safety.

To measures on social economic development and national defense in the final half of this year, the chairman stressed 10 key contents including serious implementation of resolutions on inflation control and macro-economic stability and social welfare, completion of socio-economic goals and national defense in 2011 and so on.

In addition, the locality will focus on hastening progress of basic projects; solve shortcomings of compensation and site clearance, procedures of land, tax, construction and customs for businesses…

The provincial chairman asked localities to concretize resolutions to create hi-unity for completion of the set resolutions.
