Summer youth volunteer campaign 2018 launched in Ben Cat

Ben Cat town’s Youth Union has just held a ceremony to launch the summer youth volunteer campaign 2018 under the theme of “Youths in Ben Cat are creative, voluntary for the community”, with the participation of more than 400 Youth Union members.

Accordingly, the town’s Youth Union will get involved in such practical activities as organizing a journey “Following the footsteps of heroes”; upgrading rural roads; setting up voluntary squads on traffic safety; joining hands to building new rural areas; opening vocational training classes, introducing jobs to youths; building houses of compassion; organizing voluntary activities towards border areas and remote islands; launching the “Green Sunday” campaign, planting 500 green trees; organizing useful playgrounds for disadvantaged children…

At the ceremony, the organizers offered 5 gifts to poor-but-excellent pupils. The local Youth Union members also carried out a “lighting rural road” work in Phu An and An Tay communes, revolutionary contributors; delivered propaganda leaflets on the Law on Social Insurance, the Law on Road Traffic, the Law on Military Service….to people; removed illegal advertising boards…

*Early June 12, the town’s Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation held a conference to honor outstanding blood donors in 2017.

The Steering Board last year organized 6 voluntary blood donation stages with the participation of nearly 1,300 participants or 105% of the province’s target. In the first half of 2018 alone, 3 such stages were organized with more than 1,000 people giving blood worth more than VND200million.

On this occasion, Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee, provincial Red Cross Society and the town’s People’s Committee also awarded the mementoes and the certificates of merit to 24 collectives, 6 families and 160 individuals for their excellent achievements in the local voluntary blood donation campaign last year.
