Update: 28-12-2011 | 00:00:00

More than 600 young entrepreneurs across the country attended the fourth National Congress of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) in Hanoi on December 27.

Addressing the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted the association’s achievements in the past tenure and affirmed the key role of young entrepreneurs in the country’s socio-economic development and international integration.

Along with promoting national development, Vietnamese entrepreneurs, especially the young ones, have gained remarkable achievements through their dynamism and creativity, he said.

The Deputy PM asked them to outline their strategic vision for innovations, tap into new markets, and improve their competitive edge.

The VYEA should strive to be in the vanguard of the economic front and contribute as much as possible to the country’s development, said Mr Phuc.

The VYEA, with 66 chapters and nearly 9,000 members, has helped generate more than 1.5 million jobs and earned a total revenue of more than US$25 billion.

The Association’s orientations in the 2011-2014 period were also approved at the congress.
