Three-year implementation of national target program on new-style rural construction under review

Early December 27, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to review the three-year implementation of the National Target Program on New-Style Rural Construction from 2016 to 2018. The event was attended by Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; representatives of sectors, departments and localities in the province.

In the period of 2016-2018, localities continued improving the program’s criteria on traffic, culture, education, health, electricity, rural clean water, environment…The whole province has so far had 43 out of 46 communes reaching all 19 criteria of the program. Also during the period, there were North Tan Uyen district’s Tan Thanh commune and Bau Bang district’s Lai Uyen commune turned into townships.

During the 2019-2020 period, the province will strive to get 5-7 advanced new-style rural communes and additional 2 new-style rural districts. Till 2020, there will be 12-15 advanced new-style rural communes; 100% of districts and towns fulfilling their task on new-style rural construction. On average, each district or town will have 2-3 advanced new-style rural communes.

Addressing the conference, Mr.Dung spoke highly of achievements by localities after three-year implementation of the National Target Program on New-Style Rural Construction and agreed with provincial Steering Board of the program about targets on new-style rural construction till 2020. He also suggested the Steering Board to seriously acquire contributive ideas by delegates, continue effectively executing the set targets in the coming time, further raise public awareness of the program, be proactive to set up movements on rural traffic, production development to improve the spiritual and material lives of people…

On this occasion, the Government’s Prime Minister awarded the certificates of merit to 2 collective and 1 individual for their achievements in the realization of the Resolution No.26-NQ/TW of the 7^th session of the 10^th Party Central Committee on agriculture, rural development and farmers. Provincial People’s Committee also presented the certificates of merit to 42 collectives, 83 individuals and 4 households with contributions to the local new-style rural construction movement for the period of 2016 and 2018.
