Update: 14-01-2011 | 00:00:00

The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade reported that the city has allotted VND 400 billion to 14 businesses to stockpile nine essential commodities in order to stabilise prices during the lunar New Year 2011 (Tet holiday).

The essential commodities include 6,400 tonnes of common white rice, 1,500 tonnes of meats, 560 tonnes of poultry meats, 800 tonnes of frozen seafood products, 1,200 tonnes of processed food, 12 million eggs, 240,000 litres of cooking oil, 240,000 tonnes of sugar and 4,000 tonnes of vegetables.

The 14 businesses will organise 397 places to sell these products to avoid the situation of shortage of commodities and sudden price rises.

The city’s department of industry and trade said that nearly 50 flower market locations will be arranged in city districts, including 20 places in the inner city.
