Early April 25, Binh Phuoc provincial People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a motorway connecting Dong Phu district in Binh Phuoc province to Binh Duong province, which is built under the build-operate-transfer (BTO) model. The 42-kilometre road runs from Km 496 of National Highway 14 to the border between Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong provinces. During the first stage, which costs about VND1.48 trillion, the motorway will consist of two lanes, with a speed limit of 70 kilometres per hour. The second stage will widen the road to allow a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour and add frontage roads paralleling the main motorway...

The project will be financed by Binh Phuoc Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd., Binh Phuoc Construction Investment Co.Ltd. and Duc Thanh Gia Lai Joint Stock Co.

Addressing the ceremony, Huynh Anh Minh, Vice-Chairman of Binh Phuoc provincial People’s Committee cum Head of the Steering Board of the motorway said that this was one of the province’s six key projects during the 2015-2020 period, designed to connect Dong Phu district’s southeastern area with industrial zones in Binh Duong province, southern provinces with the central Highlands region, thereby boosting socio-economic development of Dong Phu district in particular and Binh Phuoc province in general.
