2011 summer youth summer campaign gets animated

A ceremony to launch the 2011 summer youth volunteer campaign was held at Hiep An ward’s cultural compound in TDM town on the morning of July 10.  After the launching ceremony, many significant activities were made by the local youths, including providing free medical check-ups, medicine; growing green trees; handing over a house of compassion to a needy youth…

 For social welfare

 This year’s campaign will focus on activities “For social welfare”, including those for a civilized and modern Binh Duong and the local youth’s development…Twenty five squads with 510 volunteers will come to remote regions in the province and other localities, including Dac Nong, Binh Phuoc, Ca Mau, Dong Thap to assist locals during the campaign.

 At the launching ceremony, provincial Youth Union Vice Secretary Do Ngoc Huy said: “This year’s campaign has a deep and wide content. The number of participating volunteers is also higher than the previous campaign. Volunteer squads have more experience with summer volunteer activities, so the contents of the summer volunteer activities this year is very diversified and practical…”.

  Many volunteer squads on environment protection, traffic safety, “giving strength in exam season”…have also been launched. They will get involved in many significant activities, including opening computer classes for youths; implementing the “giving strength in exam season” program; organizing summer classes for pupils; making “paying debt of gratitude” activities… during the 2011 summer youth volunteer campaign.

 Each volunteer sticks to a practical deed

 After the launching ceremony, the local youths got involved in volunteer activities registered by them. Particularly, provincial Club for Young Physicians provided free medical check-ups and medicine for nearly 100 locals at Hiep An ward People’s Committee.

 Whilst, many other volunteers took part in growing 100 green trees at Tan An B primary school and TDM town Cultural House for Children…The campaign also handed over a house of compassion worth VND30mln to Tuan Kiet, a poor youth in hamlet 7, Tan An commune, TDM town. It is hope that this will give strength to Kiet and his young brother to rise up in life.

 The province’s 2011 summer youth volunteer campaign has been motivated with a lot of practical activities. It is believed that participating volunteers will make many good achievements for a meaningful volunteer summer…
