A warm Tet for poor, policy beneficiary households

As Tet approaches, Thu Dau Mot city and the whole society continue joining hands to take care of poor and policy beneficiary households by practical gifts, making the local Tet atmosphere warmer and more sentimental.

Sentimental Tet gifts

Doan Thi Thu Hong, Head of Thu Dau Mot city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that on the occasion of the Tet festival 2019, 10,470 policy beneficiaries will be supported Tet money of more than VND15billion from provincial State budget. The city will also extract more than VND4.4billion for poor households, children with extremely difficult circumstances and workers who are not able to return their hometowns for Tet.

Along with subsidies as stipulated, the city has also flexibly supported policy beneficiary families with difficult circumstances. Accordingly, the city has planned to visit and offer Tet gifts worth VND2.5million each to 8 heroic Vietnamese mothers and pre-uprising cadres; support 82 needy policy beneficiary families with VND1.5million each; visit and give gifts for social support centers…

Regular care

Not only on Tet and great holidays, policy beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors have also received regular care from the city’s authorities at all levels. In 2018, the city built and donated 17 “great unity” houses with a total cost of VND400million; provided unexpected support for 27 poor and near-poor households…There were also 144 disabled and poor people enjoying free medical check-ups

Mrs.Hong said that the city has focused on well realizing the Party, State’s preferential policies for policy beneficiaries and those who have rendered their service to the nation; strived to build and upgrade 5-10 gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries. The city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has advised provincial People’s Committee on well realizing activities to take care of outstanding policy beneficiaries on Tet and great holidays and planned to give care for poor households.
