All for a civilized , modern and distinctive city

 Over the past 15 years, Binh Duong province’s socio-economy has changed completely with great breakthroughs. It is an exploit and result of determination, unity and creation of the local entire Party, authority and people. Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with the provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung about how to develop Binh Duong into a civilized, modern and distinctive city in the future.

What did make you satisfied after 15 years of re-establishment?

After 15 years of Binh Duong province’s re-establishment, I satisfy with local socio-economic achievements including a 6.5 fold increase of total local GDP and a 6.4 fold increase in per capita average income. The locality has become one of provinces with rapid development in the Southern key economic area and has over 12,000 local businesses with the investment capital of over VND91,000bil and over 2,000 foreign projects, capitalized at nearly $15bil.

The provincial image has been formed up including a 1,000ha Binh Duong New City, hi-tech technology area, trade-finance-banking centers and so on. Local economic growth has spurred social development and improved local people’s material and spiritual life. The province has excelled repayment for privileged people and focused on education, training and healthcare and among others.

What did bring the mentioned success, sir?

Binh Duong has concentrated on infrastructure facility, investment environment improvement to lure capital sources everywhere.

Especially, the red carpet policy has created an overall strength and hi-unity from local residents. The done results have made up a trademark for Binh Duong.

What goals will be set out for locality in the future?

The 9th provincial party congress’ resolution aims at building Binh Duong into a civilized, modern and distinctive city in the future. Specifically, the locality will perfect centralized Political-Administration Center, urge investments in central areas of banking-finance, hotel and entertainment and so on as well as will form up centers for education and training and sport for the sake of local residents.

What should we do to win the goals, sir?

Firstly, we need to excel planning work. The province will urge foreign investors to select planning measures for the future Binh Duong city.

Secondly, the locality will invest in some works to link with the Southern key economic zones, HCMC, ports, international airports.

Thirdly, Binh Duong will create some hi-grade trade and service centers to cater for research, studying and manpower attraction.

Fourthly, the locality will set out programs and plans as well as preferential policies to lure potential investors in a bid to develop Binh Duong New City in the future.

A civilized, modern and distinctive, environmentally friendly city depends on deeds of local residents. Therefore, I call upon readers, people and so on to join forces with authorities and investors to create a civilized and modern city as proposed.
