Update: 27-10-2012 | 00:00:00
While other provinces and cities have muddled to seek out an operational model for the fund for environmental protection, Binh Duong has highlighted on mobilizing sources for the fund and going with businesses to minimize environmental pollution.   Loans from the Binh Duong Fund for Environmental Protection help businesses improve environmental pollution. At present, the whole country has had 19 funds for environmental protection. Of these, the soonest born fund is in Dong Nai province in 2004, followed by HCMC and Son La province in 2006. Founded in 2009, Binh Duong Fund for Environmental Protection has highlighted as the most and effective and advanced model. The Law on Environmental Protection 2005 stipulates establishment of local fund for environmental protection. Decision 71/2008/QD-TTg on setting up funds of environmental protection is to revive, improve environment in a bid to support businesses and individuals to improve environmental pollution. However, there is no any circular to guide implementation of the decision, so many localities have muddled in setting up the fund.Binh Duong Fund for Environmental Protection has given priorities for businesses to improve environmental pollution. On the support, many companies listed in a black list of serious environmental pollution have enjoyed opportunities to improve pollution and produce more sustainable. The Binh Duong Fund has from the initial chartered capital of VND30bil mobilized up to over VND60tril. This is a very impressive figure compared to other localities' funds. Possibly speaking, with a dynamic model, the Binh Duong Fund for Environmental Protection not only becomes an example for other localities but a supportive source for businesses to improve environmental pollution.Phan Thi Hoa, director of the Binh Duong Fund for Environmental Protection, said "We has made efforts to perfect our models for better operation".
