Binh Duong Daily has just had an interview with Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of provincial Party Committee about the implementation of Uncle Ho’s testament of the local youth.

According to her, the local youth have made efforts in following Uncle Ho’s teachings; realized many revolutionary action programs and strived to become a new youth generation that is both red and expert.

Which activities did Binh Duong’s youth step up to implement Uncle Ho’s testament?

Over the past time, provincial Youth Unions at all levels got in many significant activities, expressing the volunteer spirit of the local youth. All contributed to building up a more and more prosperous and civilized homeland.

The local youth also well realized “Paying debt of gratitude” activities; actively took part in dealing with the society’s urgent problems pertaining to traffic safety, environmental protection; created practical models and methods in production and business…

In addition, the local youth are effectively implementing the movement of “Binh Duong’s youth study and follow Uncle Ho’s teachings”. Provincial Youth Union is also launching an online competition on Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s ideology with the theme of “Shine of the truth” for Youth Union members on its website.

To promote the campaign of “Studying and following Uncle Ho’s exemplary morals”, provincial Youth Union over the past time organized conferences honoring provincial-level advanced youngsters in following Uncle Ho’s teachings every two years. Provincial Youth Union and its affiliates also held a lot of art performances, talk shows, seminars, contests telling stories about Uncle Ho’s exemplary morals…

What is your assessment of the results of the implementation of Uncle Ho’s testament of the local youth?

The implementation of Uncle Ho’s testament made a lot of changes in awareness and action of the local youth over the past time. This was obviously showed during the 2014 summer youth volunteer campaign. Provincial Steering Board of the campaign set up 232 youth volunteer squads with more than 38,500 members. Accordingly, the local youth got involved in many significant activities for the sake of the community, including donating tens of houses of compassion; presenting gifts to hundreds of poor households; giving gifts for thousands of children…Provincial Youth Union and its affiliates also held delegations to visit and present gifts to soldiers and those who live in the national border and island areas…during the program towards national sea and islands.

Such these apart, provincial Youth Union and its affiliates realized many substantial programs for the local youth, creating more opportunities for them in study and work. They set up provincial Young Talent Fund with Doan Thi Lien, Ho Van Men, Young Talent prizes, provincial Support Fund for Poor Alien Youth; awarded “DTL-Lighting the dreams of Binh Duong’s youth” scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils and students; organized tours to effective models, vocational training classes for rural youth; provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for alien youth with difficult circumstances…

What action programs will provincial Youth Union step up to further promote the implementation of Uncle Ho’s testament?

Provincial Youth Union has carried out a youth work “Giving Uncle Ho’s testament” for all its affiliates; issued documents guiding how to study and follow Uncle Ho’s testament for its affiliates. Provincial Youth Union is also expected to organize a competition on “Who loves Uncle Ho as children do” on November 2014.

Especially, the local youth has actively organized a lot of activities towards national sea and islands, including a program on “Binh Duong’s youth towards national sea and islands”, a program on “One thousand people take photographs together with national flag towards sea and island”, a festive day on “Binh Duong’s youth towards national sea and islands…

Provincial Youth Union will also further promote youth volunteer programs, make efforts in taking care of the local youth…With the above activities, we affirm that Binh Duong’s youth today have always expressed their role of pioneering in the cause of national construction and defence.
