 Nurture aspirations

The Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district has coordinated with Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Lap commune to organize a groundbreaking ceremony to build a solidarity house for Trinh Thi Huan's family in Hamlet 3. Huan is a poor household, her family lives in a house that was seriously degraded. Understanding this family's difficult situation, the Fatherland Front of the district decided to support the family to build a new house. Having a new house is a dream for poor families like Huan. The house seems to add warmth, joy, and motivation for Huan and family to nurture a desire to settle down and have a peaceful career. Huan, who went through difficult times, believes that the value of the house is not only measured in money but also in the sharing and caring hearts of people for her during difficult times.

To have more houses of great solidarity, every year, the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district actively launches and calls for agencies, departments, unions, businesses, and philanthropists to support the Fund for the poor. With many resources mobilized from the community, each year, the district builds and repairs dozens of houses for poor and disadvantaged households, contributing to the effective implementation of sustainable poverty reduction.

Vo Thi Tuyet Nhung, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district, said: “To contribute to the successful implementation of the National Target Program for sustainable poverty reduction and social security programs in the area, we sent a letter calling on organizations and individuals inside and outside the district to support the Fund For the Poor. In addition, we coordinate with the Fatherland Front Committees of communes and towns to review the current housing status of households on the list requesting house construction support to carry out fund spending in accordance with regulations. Houses that are repaired and built from the love, sharing, and joint contributions of the community will be a great source of encouragement to help poor households become self-reliant and build a prosperous and happy life."

Care for the vulnerable

According to statistics, there are currently 334 poor households and 81 near-poor households in Bac Tan Uyen district. Along with cultivating the aspirations of the poor, Bac Tan Uyen district proactively organizes many activities to care for vulnerable groups. Namely, the district Red Cross recently coordinated with the district's Fatherland Front to hold a "Zero-Dong Market". At the market, the Organizing Committee gave 200 gifts of necessities to poor people, each worth 1 million VND. In particular, at the program, the Organizing Committee also awarded 50 scholarships to students having difficult circumstances in the district. The gifts are a spiritual encouragement to help the poor and vulnerable people feel more warm-hearted.
