Early May 31, provincial Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control organized a meeting in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the 2024 National No Tobacco Week at Eastern International University.

At the meeting, the health sector along with departments, sectors and localities in the province signed a commitment to take action to prevent and combat the harmful effects of tobacco for the local sustainable development. With the theme of "Protecting children from the impacts of the tobacco industry", the World Health Organization calls on countries to further raise public awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco. In Binh Duong, after 10 years of implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Tobacco, the province has built many pilot models in agencies, schools, hospitals and residential areas, namely “Smoke-free office”, “Smoke-free hospital”, “Smoke-free school”...

After the meeting, nearly 400 officials, Youth Union members and students participated in a parade on propagandizing about the harmful effects of tobacco on roads in Thu Dau Mot city.
