North Tan Uyen has reaped positive results in the new-style rural construction program. This will be the important premise for the district to successfully realize its target on new-style rural construction in the 2015-2020 period…

Important results

Despite difficulties, North Tan Uyen’s Party, government and people tried to effectively carry out the local program on new-style rural construction as planned over the past time. This contributed to promoting the local socio-economic development. Till now, the whole district has had a total of 5 communes, namely Binh My, Tan My, Thuong Tan and Lac An, recognized as new-style rural ones.

North Tan Uyen district has continued upgrading its rural traffic system

Thai Thanh Binh, Vice-Secretary of the district’s Party Committee cum Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that thanks to the efforts by the local government and people, the district’s new-style rural construction program gained initial results. As of late 2015, there were 88% of the district’s rural roads covered by asphalt or concrete. The average income per capita here was VND40 million a year. There were also 99,99% and 99.8% of the local households in use of electricity and clean water, respectively; 100% of hamlets covered by mobile phone wave and with internet connection; all the 10 communes without temporarily-built houses…

Locals’ awareness of the importance of the new-style rural construction program was improved obviously. Particularly, they actively got involved in the program. In Thuong Tan commune, locals voluntarily donated land, fruits, crops and many other assets to the program. This helped Thuong Tan soon become a new-style rural commune and be an outstanding locality of the district in the program. As of late 2015, the average income per capita here reached VND37.7 million a year.

Tapping all resources

The district’s initial results in the new-style rural construction program over the past time were very satisfactory. But, according to Mr.Binh, the district’s Party, government and people need to make more efforts in realizing the program in the coming time.

One of main contents of the Resolution of the district’s 11^th Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure is to tap all resources for the local new-style rural construction and synchronous-modern infrastructure development. Particularly, till 2020, the district will strive to have all the 10 communes with completion of the new-style rural construction program. With experience plus the efforts by the local government and people, Mr.Binh believed that the district will successfully realize the program under the motto of “the State and people work together”.

Also according to Mr.Binh, the district will concentrate on upgrading rural roads, irrigation works to serve the local agricultural production…The district will also continue giving support on sci-tech transfer, foster production models with hi-economic efficiency to improve locals’ income; further speed up propaganda work to raise public awareness of the new-style rural construction program…
