Offering incense to mark the 76th anniversary of the victory of Ba Kien bridge watchtower

Early March 19, Tan Uyen city’s Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held an incense offering ceremony to mark the 76th anniversary of the Victory Day of Ba Kien Bridge Watchtower (March 19, 1948 - March 19, 2024) at the victory relic site of the Ba Kien Bridge watchtower (also known as Victory 19-3) in Thanh Phuoc ward.

Delegates offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs, compatriots, and soldiers who sacrificed their lives to achieve a resounding victory at the watchtower of Ba Kien bridge

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Vo Van Ba, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Propaganda-Education Commission; Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Colonel Nguyen Hoang Minh, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of provincial Military Command.

At the ceremony, delegates offered incense and spent a minute of silence in memory of President Ho Chi Minh, heroic martyrs, compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war for national liberation, reunification and fulfilled international obligations; heroes, martyrs, compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed their lives to make the resounding Victory of Ba Kien Bridge Watchtower in the land of heroic War Zone D.

After the incense offering ceremony, delegates visited a work on renovation and restoration of the Victory Relic of Ba Kien bridge watchtower. Here, there is a memorial stele engraved with a bas-relief of three guerrilla soldiers at the station together with words presented by Uncle Ho: "Tan Uyen - War Zone D became the starting place, the homeland of the fighting style of commando force". Tan Uyen guerrillas later established the local Nguyen Van Nghia army company that was recognized as the first commando company in the country.
