People's unity with CPV to repel Covid-19 pandemic

Update: 31-08-2021 | 14:48:28

For those who have been born and died in the resistance war against France colony and then against the US Army to save the country, the fight against Covid-19 today is no different in essence. 76 years ago, the successful August Revolution in 1945 left a lesson of national unity by closely combining the "will of the Party" with the "heart of the people" as the decisive factors. And today, in the new war, the spirit of solidarity is further affirmed so that the people of the whole nation are united in their determination to win the Covid-19 pandemic.

Victory against any enemy

"I don't know how many times I have been through the threat of death, I had a lot of combat experience, so in this battle I am not afraid of anything. Determination and unity to raise awareness of ourselves and our family is the only way to win the disease prevention and control. In the past, it was thanks to our unanimity and determination that French colony and the US Army were defeated by us in everything. I believe it will be the same this time," read a call from Mr. Vuong Xuan Dong, currently Deputy Chairman of the Truong Son Traditional Association.  - Ho Chi Minh Trail in Binh Duong province.

As party secretary, he is a veteran, so despite his age, he still joins forces to fight the epidemic every day. He happily said: "You guys say, be careful. But he kept taking the experience of Truong Son soldiers to fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.  Every time I go home, I rinse with salt water 3 times a day. I add a kettle of boiling water and add the garlic to the steam. In the past, compared to the forest malaria, the flu was a common thing. Just apply it that way, it's very effective."

For Mr. Nguyen Van Quy (often addressed as Tu Quy), the same was true of a member of the Thu Dau Mot town Rangers in the past. On the days of the outbreak, he phoned to ask each person and said: "You guys are old enough to have a lot of experience. In the old days, the US puppets were scary, he and his teammates could still fight. I'm just afraid that you are too young to have no experience. Facing the "Covid-19" enemy, I was scared, but the more I fear, the more I lose. I do not despise the enemy but I must be strong. If we are strong, we will defeat any enemy."

Unity to repel Covid-19 epidemic

Lessons on the spirit of solidarity and the Party's will in the August Revolution still have its topical value. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, a retired official in Phu Loi Ward of Thu Dau Mot city, analyzed: “The success of the August Revolution is the result of many factors. In which the factor of the strength of the great national unity in closely combination with the "will of the Party" and with the "heart of the people" is the decisive factor. The lesson of solidarity from the August Revolution in 1945 has always been a torch to light the way for the Vietnamese people to this day when the whole nation is united in determination to repel the Covid-19 pandemic.

Going back the history, on August 13, 1945, the National Uprising Committee was established and issued Military Order No. 1 to summon the entire people to rise up to revolt to seize power. After that, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter calling on the people of the country to do a general uprising by clearly stating: "The decisive hour for the destiny of our nation has come. The whole nation, compatriots should get up and bring the strength to liberate ourselves."  Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the people of the nation simultaneously rose up and conducted a general uprising to seize the power. Within 15 days of the end of August 1945, the general uprising was completely won. For the first time in history, the government in the whole nation belongs to the people.

Today, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a great impact on the socio-economic situation and threatened the lives and health of millions of Vietnamese families. But it was in that difficult situation that the whole nation in general and Binh Duong in particular have been struggling against the Covid-19 epidemic, the spirit of the August Revolution was brought into full play. A hope was rekindled. It is the light of a people who can rely on each other and work together to overcome difficulties.

The spirit of national unity and self-sacrifice for others is not only reflected in the actions of the frontline forces but also pervades all the alleys. Despite social distancing, people are closer to one another. Many "fire stoves" are warm to compatriots to provide food for soldiers and militiamen in the front for disease prevention and control; movement to mobilize tenants to reduce or free motel rooms for workers, the poor, near-poor households and along with the programs of "Zero VND shopping stall", "Love kitchen", "Gratitude supermarket",  "Supermarket with VND 0", "Volunteer group going to the market to help people", "Gifts to home", "Volunteer delivery", "Protecting green areas" etc. were formed and flourished in many localities.

The strength of national unity is the decisive factor for the sustainable victory of the Vietnamese revolution and the victory in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe that with the spirit of solidarity that has been crystallized since ancient times of the Vietnamese people, the fight against Covid-19 today will definitely be a comprehensive victory.
