Practically caring and cultivating the young generation

When alive, President Ho Chi Minh often reminded and tasked sectors, unions with children protection and care. In his testament, he carefully recommended: “Fostering a revolutionary generation for the future is a very important and necessary thing”. Following his teachings, in recent years, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization (HYPO) at all levels in the province has strived to take care of the young generation through specific activities…

According to statistics, the province currently has nearly 200,000 members of more than 3,500 HYPO detachments. This number proved that along with the socio-economic boom, the province has attracted people from all over the country to come here, leading to the increase number of young people who followed their family and came to Binh Duong. To take good care of these children, provincial HYPO and affiliates have been gradually improved. Therefore, the force in charge of managing young people has also grown. The province has now 213 teachers as general leaders of HYPOs in schools, hundreds of cadres managing young people in residential areas, and a qualified team of collaborators at HYPOs.

With practical programs, such as “Young generation of the country – Following the elders’ footsteps”, right from the beginning of the new school year, HYPO’s Council at localities have enhanced the in-depth education through activities, such as: effectively implementing the model of “Telling stories about uncle Ho - Each week a story"; organizing “We tell stories of uncle Ho" contest; reviewing 5 things taught by uncle Ho; taking part in online contests of the Central HYPO; commending typical examples of the "Saying or doing good things” movement…

In addition, HYPO’s Council at all levels launched movements of “We love national islands” with many forms, arranged contests of designing the golden book – Diary of following uncle Ho’s teachings… Some new programs organized in the last school year were “One day to become a soldier”, “Being proud of the heroic tradition”, "Discovering and experiencing"... These programs contributed to arousing the spirit of unity, patriotism, training for pupils; educating on the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army; and improving the younger generation’s responsibility to the cause of building and defending the country.

Identifying learning as the most important task to pupils, the program named “Training knowledge - Firm steps for the future”, provincial HYPO’s Council launches effectively movements: “Flowers of good scores”, “Flowers of 10 score”, “Clean notebook nice letters”… Besides, provincial HYPO’s Council also promoted campaigns of “Feeding piggy banks to help poor friends”, “Rice of compassion”, “Helping friends to school – Turning towards the future",100% of HYPOs in the province organized well activities of solidarity, mutual assistance.

Through these activities, provincial HYPO’s Council offered 66 scholarships worth VND250 million, helped more than 300 disadvantaged pupils to go to school, gave gifts worth more than VND500 million to 6 compassionate classes. Scholarship Fund "Lighting up dreams" of units supported 136 disadvantaged pupils at the new school year’s beginning with more than VND306 million. The project “Red scarf’s house’ presented 3 houses to disadvantaged children in 2015- 2016.

On the other hand, HYPO’s Councils at all levels have focused on joyful activities, contests, like: “Lantern to hands - Lighting dreams up", folk games… to educate children on solidarity, health exercising, build up “Friendly schools, active students”.

Due to the efforts to care for young persons, provincial HYPO Council was commended and honored as excellent unit by the Central Youth Union and Central HYPO. In particular, in 2011, provincial HYPO Council received second-class Labor Medal from the President.
