Province marks 147th anniversary of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day

Early May 6, provincial Red Cross Society held a ceremony to mark the 147th anniversary of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day and the 2nd conference on highlighting the society’s exemplary role models between 2005 and 2010.

Over the past five years, provincial Red Cross Society gained lots of achievements in the task of mobilizing organizations and individuals to take care of the material and spiritual lives of the local people, especially poor ones through many significant programs and movements, including the Tet program for the poor, the disabled and Agent Orange victims, the “paying debt of gratitude” program, the “compassionate clothes” program…The total expense for the five-year social aid and public healthcare made by the society was estimated at more than VND179.5bln.

 

On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to one collective and 5 individuals; 11 collectives and 48 individuals were also given the certificates of merit by the Vietnam Red Cross Society for their outstanding achievements in activities and movements launched by the society in the last five years.
