Province searches and gathers 340 martyrs' remains over 10 years

On March 29, Provincial Steering Committee 515 held a meeting to summarize the implementation of Decision No. 75/2023/QD-TTg dated December 6, 2023 and Decision No. 35/2017/QD-TTg dated July 25 - 2017 of the Prime Minister on regimes, policies and assurance for organizations and individuals tasked with searching and gathering the remains of martyrs. Colonel Tran Duc Thang, Deputy Head of Politics of Military Region 7, attended the conference.

Over the past time, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 has well implemented the regimes and policies for organizations and individuals in the search and gathering of martyrs' remains to ensure timeliness and compliance with regulations. From 2013 to 2023, the whole province searched for and gathered 340 martyrs' remains and buried them in Martyrs' Cemeteries according to regulations.

At the meeting, the delegates agreed to propose increasing the level of compensation for work days and meals for forces mobilized and directly seeking martyrs' remains; propose increasing the level of compensation for work days for people who do not receive salary from the State budget mobilized related to search and gathering tasks suitable for working days; increase spending levels for organizing memorial services, visitation ceremonies and burials for martyrs' remains; propose additional financial support to ensure a place to stay for family of martyrs to search for information about martyrs and martyrs' graves; add additional regulations on support level for staff directly loading and shrouding martyrs' remains...
