Arriving at Becamex Hoa Loi Social Housing Block in Binh Duong New City was to share the joy of factory workers finding nice housing. Many said that the accommodation opportunity encouraged them to stay longer in Binh Duong Province working.

Delight at new apartments

Residing at Apartment A2a 305 of 30 square meters of Becamex Hoa Loi Sociali Housing Block, Mr. Lam Van Hai from Nam Dinh, a maintenance mechanics of Uchihashi Corporation in VSIP II told us about his 12 years working in Binh Duong Province. Previously, he has been living at costly hostels. Recently, Becamex Social Housing Project offered him choices. By prepaying VND 40 million, he shall be paying averagely VND 1.8 million in for 5 years to finalize the contract. Hai asserted that such payments are slightly higher that hostel costs but affordable.

Meantime, at Apartment A2e 304, the couple of Mr. Tran Van Vung from Long An and Mrs. Hoang Thi Mai from Thanh Hoa both working at S-Tec Saigon Co. Ltd. expressed their happiness at dinner with their child. Vung retold of their time paying over VND 1.2 million monthly for the hostels, now, they are settled down.

Ms. Pham Thi Lan from Binh Phuoc Province, worker of United International Pharma in VSIP II, bought Apartment A2d 510. She chose the down-payment method with advancement of VND 30 million and monthly VND 1,390,000 for 5 years. Her salary of VND 5-6 million a month, making it easier for those of the same income to afford the apartment at the cost up to VNd 100 million.

Reportedly, majority of apartment owners at Becamex Social Housing Block are young people working at nearby industrial parks. Mr.Nguyen Duc Ngoc from Binh Phuoc, owner of Apartment A2b 318, born in 1968, is one of the elderly buyer at the place. He said that his work started in 2010 in Binh Duong Province and in 2013 he bought the apartment with 5-year instalment at VND 1,855,000 to preserve for his child who intended to work in VSIP II.

Opportunities for working people

Following Ngoc to the fifth floor of Block A2b where Mai Thu Paper Pakage Production Company at VSIP II bought 40 apartments to help their workers own the apartment by month discount to their salary. At Apartment A2b 526, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Lieu, owned the apartment by such approach, said: “We stayed in Binh Duong Province for Tet Holiday. It was memoriable for us to stay in our own house.”

Mr. Tran Quoc Hung, Project Manager of Becamex Social Housing Project, informed of VND 90 to VND 150 million per apartment of 30 square meters. Buyers are offered favorable payments in accordance with the project progress. They are also offered favored bank loans and long-term house ownership on the land. Hung also informed of prepayment of VND 5 to 10 million to own an apartment of 30 square meters; and, the remaining amounts would be pay in instalments through 5 to 7 years at favorable interest rate. People can also contribute to collectively buy their apartments through time. Enterprises can also prepay for apartments to be sold to their staffs by salary discounts.

Offering accommodation to working people is to stabilize human resources, servicing the sustainable development. It is easier said than done; however, Becamex Social Housing Project brings up such opportunities for factory workers to encourage them to stay working in Binh Duong Province.
