The third session of the 8th People’s Council meeting inaugurated

The third session of the 8th People’s Council meeting was inaugurated on November 07. Hosting the meeting was People’s Council Chair Vu Minh Sang. In the first working day, delegates listened to reports in fields of socio-economic and security-defense of the province in 2011 and orientation to 2012. They also listened to other reports of Fatherland Front Committee, working activities of Procurary and judges of People’s Court, and so on.

The People’s Committee reported that socio-economic targets have been met for achieving 14% of GDP growth, industrial value gained 17.8%, agriculture production increased by 4.2%, total production retails and services increased by 30.5% while revenues of import and export increased by 21.1% earning VND 22,500 billion.

Besides, foreign investment attraction by the end of November 2011 reached USD 889 million while over 46,000 employees were recruited. Ratio of poor household was reduced to 1.71%.

The plenary meeting also offers overview of obstacles and challenges presented in 2011 which are projected to be resolved for the time to come.

On December 08, representatives from departments are expected to answer inquiries regarding concerning issues raised up by delegates and voters.
