To be forever grateful

 "Gratitude" is expressed by the whole society through actions to people who contributed to the country in this July. The same goes for Tan Uyen Town. During this peak month of gratitude, from towns to communes, wards organized many practical activities, thereby educating the patriotic tradition and morality of "Drinking water, remembering the source” of our nation.

Provincial leaders visit and present gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers.

 Be grateful with all the heart

Remembering families of martyrs, war invalids, people with meritorious services to the revolution, on July 23, leaders of Tan Uyen Town organized 12 visits and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries on the occasion of 73rd War Invalids - Martyrs Day (July 27). The delegations came to the families in different communes and wards to give 545 gifts, including 40 gifts from the province. On the occasion of 27th July this year, Vietnamese heroic mother Bui Thi Da in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward was so happy, because the town leaders came to visit and give her gifts. In addition to receiving a gift worth VND 2.5 million from the province, the mother also received a gift worth VND 500,000 from the town. She is very happy on occasions of annual 27th July, 22nd December, Lunar New Year, when she receives much affection from the province to the town and the locality for her.

The town Office of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also cooperated with People's Committees of communes and wards to provide proper, sufficient and timely support policies and regimes for people with meritorious services and their families according to current regulations. Besides, all governmental branches and levels also mobilized many sources to give gifts and visit people with meritorious services in the town. Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thy, Deputy Head of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office, said the office also checked the situation of alive Vietnamese heroic mothers to promptly advise the Town People's Committee to solve arising problems; collaborated with mass organizations to encourage sponsors and enterprises to provide material and spiritual care to policy families having lonely and difficult circumstances.

Taking care of policy beneficiaries is the responsibility of the whole society, thus governmental branches and mass organizations in the town regularly encourage union members and exemplary members actively perform well the gratitude work; have practical activities to care for people with meritorious services. Towns, communes and wards also encouraged businesses, socio-economic organizations and individuals to actively support local Gratitude funds to support the construction and repair of gratitude houses, give basic interior equipment to heroic Vietnamese mothers and families, present savings books, embellish martyrs' memorial works, support policy families when they are in trouble or sick...

In this gratitude month, gratitude activities were also done by localities. Based on practical conditions, communes and wards held meetings of war invalids, martyrs' families and people with meritorious services to remind the nation's heroic revolutionary struggle and the historical significance of 27th July. This expressed the attention of the Party and State to people with meritorious services.

Policy beneficiaries are taken care regularly

Currently, Tan Uyen Town has over 7,000 policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services. The organization of activities celebrating the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day was to educate the patriotic tradition and the fine morality "Drinking water, remembering the source” of our nation. Not only on this occasion, the policy beneficiaries are regularly taken care of by Party Committees and authorities. On Lunar New Year 2020, in addition to many gifts of the province, agencies, units of the town, communes and wards visited and gave 1,272 gifts to policy beneficiaries with a total value of over VND 545 million. Policy families also receive monthly allowance properly, fully and promptly according to prescribed regimes and policies. Particularly during the Covid-19, through statistics and reviews, the town advised Provincial People's Committee to support 512 policy people with total amount of VND 765 million.

The town Office of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs cooperated with relevant agencies to take care of policy people, such as: to give vocational training, lend loans for production, student loans, offer scholarships, ensuring that policy people have a living standard equal to or higher than the average living standard of people in the same area where they reside; gradually improve life quality of people with meritorious services.

Policy beneficiaries are always tended in terms of both physical and spiritual health. Local government also granted health insurance cards; usually organized health checks and dispense free medicines to policy beneficiaries.

Tan Uyen Town also takes care of resting place for people with meritorious services. In this year, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office, People's Committees of wards and communes regularly clean, embellish the town Martyrs Cemetery, monuments in order for martyrs' families, the Party, government, and local people to visit on major occasions.
