To review the list and prepare for Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 5 to 11

On April 4, the Provincial Covid-19 Steering Committee held an online meeting with 9 districts, towns and cities in the province. Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over the meeting.

In the past 7 days, the number of new Covid-19 cases was on a downward trend compared to the previous week, with 6,254 new cases, down 51.9% compared to the previous week, the number of cases cured and completed treatment decreased by 53%. The numbers of F0s hospitalized, moved to the third tier treatment, and mechanical breathing decreased. In particular, the number of deaths decreased to 13 cases, down 27.8% from the previous week. Most of the deaths had underlying diseases. In recent days, localities continued to open vaccination sites, flexible time-schedules, or at-night vaccinations to create favorable conditions for all people to be vaccinated in a timely manner.

Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized that the whole province continued to put the vaccination task on top. In order to prepare well for the vaccination campaign for children from 5 to 11 years old, localities must check, statistics and firmly grasp the number of children of vaccination age, infected children to have a vaccination plan suitable to the actual situation. Medical branch needs to provide specific instructions for localities on when children infected with Covid-19 could be vaccinated. Along with preparation for the vaccination, medical branch and localities need to continue the plan to inject first, second and third doses for people in April 2022, and must complete 90% as prescribed by the Central Government.
