Phuoc Hoa recognized as a new-style rural commune

Phuoc Hoa commune in Phu Giao district has just held a ceremony to announce it as a new-style rural commune under provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.764 dated April 3, 2019.

After five years of implementing its new-style rural construction program, the commune has so far reached all 19 criteria of the program. The program has contributed to positively changing the local socio-economic performance. The lives of the local people have been improved a lot. As of July 2018, the average income of the local people was VND51million per person per year. There were only 77 poor households as of late 2016 or 2.15% of total and 109 near-poor ones or 3.55% of total. As of late 2018, the whole commune had 30 poor households or 0.97% of total and 148 near-poor ones or 4.77% of total. The commune’s total expense for new-style rural construction was more than VND487billion, including more than VND69billion from the local people.

It is known that Phuoc Hoa is among the district’s two last communes meeting criteria of the new-style rural construction program.

On this occasion, the district’s People’s Committee commended and rewarded 25 outstanding individuals, collectives in the national target program on new-style rural construction for the 2014-2018 period. 29 other individuals were also honored by the communal People’s Committee.
