Binh Duong in drastic and comprehensive implementation of major regional connectivity projects

On the afternoon of March 15, in Dong Nai province, the exchange and cooperation conference between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Southeast region took place for the fourth time. The conference was attended by leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, and Tay Ninh. Regarding Binh Duong, the conference was attended by Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

At the conference, leaders of provinces and cities reported in general on the coordination work between localities, focusing on the progress of implementing projects connecting Ho Chi Minh City and other localities; the potential for development of trade, tourism, road transport, waterway transport in the Dong Nai river basin; proposing the planning direction for the Saigon River; cooperating in preventing illegal sand exploitation.

At the conference, Mr. Vo Van Minh stated that in the first quarter of 2024, Binh Duong province has focused on coordinating the development of key transportation infrastructure in the Southeast region. In addition, the province has been vigorously and comprehensively implementing high-speed projects, beltways under the management of the Central Government but assigned to localities for investment implementation. The province actively coordinates with other provinces and cities in the Dong Nai river basin to carry out activities and tasks to protect the environment and contribute to sustainable development.

Mr. Vo Van Minh also raised some suggestions, proposals to further enhance the effectiveness in connecting cooperation, development that has been concerned by the leaders of Binh Duong province, focusing on timely coordination with localities, thereby ensuring the progress of implementing key tasks of the region. At the same time, he said that in the coming time, Binh Duong province will continue to coordinate with other provinces and cities to review and propose to the Ministry of Planning and Investment to fully incorporate the opinions of localities in the region and promptly complete the Master Plan of the Southeast region for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050 to ensure consistency with the overall directions of the region; at the same time, research and supplement the development plan of the Saigon River corridor, Dong Nai River.
