Connection strengthened to find jobs and take care of workers

Update: 15-04-2023 | 10:05:20

Based on a recent survey carried out among enterprises in the province, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs forecasts that in the second quarter of 2023, Binh Duong would need about 10,000 workers. However, recruitment demand also depends on skills, qualifications as well as labor market fluctuations...

It is expected that in the second quarter of 2023, businesses in the province need about 10,000 more workers

 Businesses still need more laborers

In the early days of the second quarter of 2023, besides some enterprises facing difficulties in production and business, leading to sluggish operations, some other enterprises continued to expand their production, post job vacancies. For example, Esprinta Vietnam Co., Ltd (Song Than 2 Industrial Park, Di An City), from the beginning of this year has recruited about 700 employees, then at the beginning of this second quarter, the company continued to post about more job vacancies for 150 unskilled workers and 20 skilled employees in embroidery techniques, goods inspection, sewing line techniques, HSE staff...

Luu Tinh Uyen, human resources officer of Esprinta Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: “It is true that the garment industry currently faces many difficulties in terms of orders. However, not all companies are in trouble. In this year 2023, orders at our company remain stable until the end of the year, employees get regular overtime jobs, and their income does not decrease compared to previous years. In my opinion, workers who are having difficulty finding jobs and must take unpaid leave, are mainly in some enterprises that are short of orders. They must actively find new jobs, change their working environment, and create opportunities for themselves. Our company is in dire need of laborers, but it is still difficult to recruit, there are no job applications. We also don't need skilled workers because we will train workers from the beginning”.

Similarly, Bao Minh Confectionery Company (Bau Bang district) has opened a new workshop, wants to recruit more than 100 unskilled workers aged 18 to 50 years old, when they are hired, they will get vocational training. The salary offered by this company is quite attractive, ranging from 9 to 14 million VND/person/month, with Sundays off. The jobs are quite simple such as packing, loading and unloading, sorting products, standing machines, checking products, warehouse staff... However, many days after the recruitment news was posted, this company has not yet recruited enough workers.

According to Duong Tan Minh, Head of Labor and Employment Department under Provincial Employment Service Center, recently, the demand for job recruitment from businesses is not high compared to every year. However, the center still regularly connects and posts jobs, although the number is not high. Currently, there are some businesses that are still in need of workers, but they do not actively connect with the labor sourcing center, but mainly recruit at the factory or post recruitment news on their own websites. Meanwhile, job seekers have not actively sought jobs. In the current tough situation as seeking jobs, employees must regularly update job search channels, not afraid to change their residence, working environment...

10,000 workers are in need in the second quarter

According to Provincial Employment Service Center, the labor market of the province in the first months of 2023 had different changes compared to the same period in previous years. Job search increased quite highly, mainly looking for unskilled jobs. Job seekers with skills in sewing and wood processing industry will find it easier to find a job than laborers in leather shoes because most businesses in this industry do not have recruitment demand. To workers in leather shoes industry, the consulting center recommends laborers switch to businesses that sew backpacks, handbags...

Young workers aged from 18-30 will find jobs faster, especially male workers. For women, it will be slower to get a job, but if they are skilled in sewing and woodwork, the employment rate will be better. Laborers, who find it difficult to find a job at the present, are the elderly male and female workers (from 37 years old and above), whether skilled or experienced or not. In addition, qualified and specialized workers who need to find a job at this time, if they do not have foreign language skills and are over 35 years old, will be more disadvantaged. On the other hand, fresh graduates in the province and some southwestern provinces also create quite high competition and have more advantages in the current recruitment market.

Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of Provincial Employment Service Center, said: “From gloomy signals of the labor supply and demand market in the first months of 2023, it is forecasted that the labor market in the following months would continue to pose risks and challenges. Enterprises would still face many difficulties in operations, especially in the processing and manufacturing industry. Therefore, the recruitment demand of enterprises in the province in the second quarter of 2023 is about 8,000 to 10,000 employees, of which skilled labor accounts for 75-80% and concentrates in fields of garment manufacturing, backpacks, bags, wood furniture, mechanics, hardware…”.
