With the determination of building Binh Duong into a 'worth-living' land, the province has implemented many comprehensive and effective solutions, contributing to improving the quality of environment for a green Binh Duong.

Vibrant movements

In response to World Environment Day (June 5) and the Action Month for  Environment, many localities, departments and mass oranizations in the province have organized practical activities to attract attention and call for the community’s participation in raising public awareness and responsibility of environmental protection.

On June 4, provincial Farmers' Association organized a ceremony to launch the program on “Binh Duong farmers responding to World Environment Day in association with the implementation of provincial Project on mass mobilization for building cultural and civilized lifestyles and participating in building smart villages in Bach Dang commune” at Bach Dang commune’s Tan Trach park in Tan Uyen city. The youth of Binh Duong are always active in the cause of environmental protection

"Prior to that, on June 2, provincial Youth Federation and Aeon Mall Binh Duong Canary jointly organized a series of activities for the World Environment Day, with such contents as organizing competitions on the “Action for a Green Environment”, “Initiative for plastic waste prevention and control models”, conducting training sessions on organic waste classification and treatment at households...These activities have created positive effects, drawing the attention of customers, Youth Union members and the community to environmental issues".

Effective models replicated

Environmental protection is the shared responsibility of the entire society.  Each individual, organization and business can contribute to building up a green, clean, and beautiful environment. Localities within the province have developed many practical and effective models, namely “Bright, green, clean, beautiful roads”, “Eliminating pollution spots - turning garbage dumps into flower gardens”, “Flower streets”, “Green schools”, “Green houses”…These models have contributed to making strong changes in awareness, fostering the spirit of self-awareness and responsibility among officials, Party members, Youth Union members and people in practicing cultural and civilized lifestyles.

"As the central urban area of the province, Thu Dau Mot city has pioneered the implementation of the 'Trash-free city' model with the goal of making the city become one of the province’s leading urban areas in ensuring environmental sanitation. Accordingly, the city has set a target of having 100% of main roads, alleys and residential areas without waste, aiming at becoming one of the province’s leading urban areas in ensuring environmental sanitation. To achieve this, the city has set a target of reaching 100% of main roads, alleys and residential areas to obey regulations regarding the time, locations for disposal, collection, and transportation of household solid waste. Waste collection and transportation units must adhere to proper processes, ensuring that main roads are clean, without any improper disposal of waste and spontaneous waste dumping sites. Residential areas, social housing, and lodging facilities in the city are cleaned up and free from waste accumulation. 100% of households in the city organize the separation of household solid waste at the source, actively participate in the movement against plastic waste and reject single-use plastic products".

"Vo Thi Bach Yen, Pernament Vice-Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee, Chairwoman of the city’s People's Council stated that the model has received enthusiastic response and participation from the people, with a series of responsive activities. The local people are determined to realize the 'Trash-free City”, building a more and more civilized, prosperous, beautiful and modern city.

In addition to environmental protection models in urban areas, models such as “Exemplary flower streets”, “Green-clean-beautiful roads”… in rural areas contribute to the effective implementation of environmental criteria in building new-style rural areas. Models such as “Green houses”, “Collecting recyclables for charity funds” by the Women's Union at all levels not only serve environmental protection purposes, but also contribute to social welfare activities... These effective models are being replicated in many localities."

According to leaders of provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE), in addition to participating in general environmental protection activities launched by provincial DoNRE and political and social organizations, districts and cities within the province have also proactively organized individual activities. They have actively mobilized and promoted awareness of environmental protection to each household, creating a lively movement with public participation in environmental protection.

As part of the environmental protection activities in response to World Environment Day on June 5, 2024, today (June 5), provincial DoNRE in collaboration with the People's Committee of Phu Giao district organizes the Environment Festival in response to World Environment Day 2024.
