Many activities take care of trade unionists, employees

On the afternoon of June 14, Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council and Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee had a working session with provincial Labor Union.

At the working session, Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that provincial Labor Union has focused on directing trade unions at all levels to deploy key tasks in 2021, effectively organize programs to take care of employees amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, during the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2021, provincial trade unions at all levels supported more than VND 447 billion, including more than VND358 billion from the Trade Union’s State budget and nearly VND13.5 billion from provincial State budget, for 661,100 trade unionists and employees. They also mobilized nearly VND2 billion in cash and VND 792 million in kind from businesses and individuals to take care of workers affected by Covid-19 pandemic; supported VND552million for 533 trade unionists and laborers facing difficulties, due to the pandemic; donated more than VND7.7 billion for workers ‘families hit by floods and storms. Provincial Labor Union’s support fund for workers with extremely difficult circumstances gave 54 gifts worth VND508million for 54 trade unionists and workers suffering from fatal diseases, occupational diseases, and labor accidents…Besides, provincial Labor Union coordinated with 59 units and enterprises to implement "Welfare for trade unionists" programs, selling essential goods to trade unionists and employees with discounts from 5% to 40%...

Provincial Labor Union has directed trade union locals to actively coordinate with businesses to promote propaganda and implement urgent measures against the pandemic. Especially, trade unions at all levels actively implemented propaganda for the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure. Provincial Labor Union called on the  business community to actively support the local Covid-19 prevention and control fund launched by provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund for "Million doses of vaccines for poor workers" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor...

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Minh spoke highly activities done by the local trade unions at all levels, especially in taking care of trade unionists and employees with difficult circumstances over the past time. He suggested that provincial Labor Union should focus on bringing the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels into the lives of employees; continuing effectively implementing the tasks of taking care of and protecting workers' legitimate interests & rights, Party development among workers ...; further direct trade unions at all levels, especially trade union locals, to actively coordinate with businesses to promote propaganda as well as taking effective measures against the pandemic at workplace, ensuring employees ‘health and maintaining stable production and development...
