Province responds to National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

On April 4, provincial Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation held a ceremony to respond to National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7).

Voluntary blood donation is a very significant deed in humanitarian work. Since 2000, April 4 is selected as the National Voluntary Blood Donation with a goal of disseminating and mobilizing people to donate blood for saving lives. Authorities at all levels of the province realize the voluntary blood donation movement annually with the participation of people from all strata, thereby contributing to serving first aid and treatment for people in the province and in the southeastern region.

At the ceremony, provincial Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation in collaboration with the HCM city-based Cho Ray hospital’s Hematology-Blood Donation Center and Kim Oanh Real Estate Joint Stock Company held a blood donation program themed “Pink drops of love” with the participation of more than 1,000 people. As a result, 600 people registered to give blood on site. The organizers collected 540 units of blood. Representative of Kim Oanh Foundation also donated VND200million to the program.
