Vietnam, Myanmar boost military medical cooperation

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), received Major General Soe Win, head of the Myanmar’s army medical department, in Hanoi on September 6.

Soe Win informed his host about the outcomes of his working sessions with the Vietnamese army medical department and military hospitals.

The meetings allow the two countries to share experience and boost cooperation in training.

For his part, Nam highlighted the sound friendship between Vietnam and Myanmar in all fields, including defence.

He noted bilateral defence cooperation is one of the key pillars in Vietnam-Myanmar ties.

Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence and the VPA General Staff will create the best conditions for the two countries’ military medical forces to enhance cooperation, he affirmed.
