Volunteer weekend at grassroots

Update: 05-08-2023 | 09:38:44

Currently, the province is mobilizing the whole political system to get involved in speeding up the process of granting e-identification accounts. Provincial Police Agency’s Youth Union members have implemented a program  “Volunteer weekend at grassroots” in Thuan An city to promptly support the local police force to complete their tasks and help people install e- identification accounts.

Going to every alley, knocking on every door

Following the footsteps of provincial police officers and soldiers, we were present at the office of Dong Nhi quarter in Thuan An city’s Lai Thieu ward on the weekend. Here, people came in large numbers to install level 2 e-identification accounts from morning until noon.

Senior Lieutenant Do Thanh Chinh, Vice-Secretary of the Youth Union under provincial Police Agency’s Mobile Police Division said: "Participating in the "Volunteer Weekend", we stayed in the locality to eat, work, support the locality together. Initially, I also encountered some difficulties because this was not a professional job. Being guided by the Youth Union of provincial Police Agency PC06 (the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order)…, I'm used to this task, too. For cases not using smartphones, I help them register on my phone, then write down their passwords so they can log in next time. I made a list for these cases…”.

Regardless of day and night, over the past time, provincial police officers and Youth Union members supported 10 commune and ward police units in Thuan An city to perform their tasks, contributing to completing the target of the joint plan No.6 to implement the "40 days and nights" peak, propagandizing, guiding people to install and activate 2 level e-identification accounts by provincial Police Agency and Youth Union.

Accordingly, police forces and volunteers have propagandized and guided people to install and activate the VNeID application, online public services and participate in movements and activities such as joining hands in building civilized urban and new-style rural areas, mass mobilization activities, building the movement of “all people defending national security”...

High determination

During the days of deploying volunteer squads to grassroots, provincial police officers and Youth Union members supported the locality to perform many tasks and received much positive feedback from the people. The officers also feel very excited and are determined with the grassroots force to try to fulfill the target of the peak "60 days and nights to collect and activate 2 level e-identification accounts" for eligible citizens.

Senior Lieutenant Ho Thanh Thao, Secretary of provincial Police Agency’s Youth Union said that under the campaign "60 days and nights to collect and activate 2 level e-identification accounts", grassroots police forces faced hardships. Therefore, provincial Police
Agency’s Youth Union was proactive to ask for  the Party Committee, the Board of Directors’s opinion and established a volunteer squad of more than 300 Youth Union members to support commune and ward police in Thuan An city during the weekend from July 29 to August 27, 2023…

“Through the program, we want to turn the model of "Volunteer weekend to grassroots" into a movement among young people, contributing to improving self-awareness in dedication, volunteer spirit, not being afraid of difficult work, sharing the pressure with grassroots police forces in order to successfully carry out entrusted tasks together", said Senior Lieutenant Ho Thanh Thao.
