Over VND 220 billion offered for Tet holiday of socially privileged and working people

In the morning of January 7, the Standing Committee of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee met and approved the report on preparation, welfare and service to the people welcoming the Lunar New Year in 2021. Attending the meeting was Tran Van Nam, Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Vo Van Minh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Duong provincial People's Committee, and leaders of departments and branches.

The report said that the regime of spending money for the upcoming Tet Holiday for the subjects and the level of support is similar to the Lunar New Year of 2020, but 2 additional workers in extremely difficult circumstances residing in Binh Duong (according to the report of Binh Duong provincial Trade Union, the number of subjects is 1,447 people, equivalent to VND 723 million) and officers and soldiers on duty against Covid-  19, increasing spending for a number of subjects (the workforce directly engage in cleaning and collecting garbage from VND 4 million to VND 5 million; gifts to typical policy beneficiaries in the districts,  towns and cities from VND 2.5 million to VND 3 million). In addition, it is forecast that about 250,000 local workers will not return to their hometowns but stay in Binh Duong to celebrate Tet holiday.

The total cost estimate for the temporary support of Tet holiday 2021 is more than VND 220 billion which was VND 217.338 billion, of which the provincial budget was VND 115.693 billion, the budget at the district level was VND 87.341 billion, and commune budget VND 17.044 billion.

Addressing the meeting, Tran Van Nam asked departments, branches and local authorities to coordinate firmly to know the objects that need to be offered so as to hold the expenditure management; to pay attention to the workers who stay in Binh Duong for Tet holiday. Those who are not in real difficulties should give away their portions to others for the quality and meaningful Tet holiday. He suggested that branches and localities should try to organize Tet Holiday in a simple, economical, and unobtrusive manner while maintaining the fulfillment; the fire prevention and fighting, security and order during the Tet Holiday must be ensured in a way that the bad groups are not allowed to take advantage of the difficult workers' lives and then infiltrate and organize black credit loan to make profits; to check to see if the privileged families have enough supplies for Tet or not.

He also asked departments and branches to schedule and arrange attentive visits to privileged families, economic organizations, and employees.
