42 collectives and individuals with excellent achievements in the implementation of Law on Militia and Self-Defense Force 2009 to be commended

On Sep 6, Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, presided over the 8-year summarizing conference, disseminating the enforcement of Law on Militia and Self-Defense Force 2009-2017.

During the last eight years, the dissemination and thorough implementation of legal documents on leadership, instruction and guidance of all levels on Law on Militia and Self-Defense Force has been carried out in various forms and methods so that the whole commune joined hands to build stronger militia and self-defense force.

In addition, Binh Duong also concretized the law by projects of building the people armed forces, militia, and specific militia forces in accordance with the real characteristics, situation, especially to identify the development of each locality. Accordingly, militia and self-defense force has developed in line with the motto "Strong - Wide".

At present, militia and self-defense force reaches 1.3% of the population; Party members' quality achieves 25.43%, an increase of 7.19% compared to 2009; 91/91 communes, wards and townships have military branches and committees; 78.81% permanent militia platoons, mobile militia teams have party organizations. Binh Duong is also an active and innovative locality pioneering in the organization of permanent militia platoons that have been performing quite well in industrial zones since 2011.

Speaking at the meeting, Dang Minh Hung acknowledged the efforts of various levels, sectors and forces in the last eight years. He affirmed specific goals, directions and solutions for further propaganda for the entire population to be aware of "Strong - Wide" militia and self-defense force were very useful in maintaining security and order as well as being ready for natural disaster prevention and combat, and national protection. The conference also rewarded 21 collectives and 21 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the 2009 Militia and Self-Defense Force Law.
